Can you tell me more about your expertise and therapeutic style?
I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in traumatic stress studies in 2021 and have trained or worked in a variety of settings with a wide variety of people. I have received my Advanced Certificate in Complex Trauma and Dissociation from the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), am an EMDRIA-trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) clinician, and have completed advanced training in clinical hypnosis. The ISSTD is the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation and is the oldest international organization dedicated to the study of complex trauma and dissociation. They provide training, resources, and support for clinicians who work in this area. An Advanced Certificate in Complex Trauma and Dissociation is awarded to those who have completed 100 hours of advanced training.
In most of my clinical work, I draw primarily from psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral models of change. Often sessions will be focused on exploring how past experiences influence your current emotions and relationship patterns alongside building concrete skills that can help you better notice and regulate your emotions. With this greater level of awareness and control, people are increasingly able to identify and implement the changes they want to experience in their lives. Since I am trained in a variety of modalities, I often will bring ideas of strategies that we can integrate into our work together as your needs change and if you’re interested in them.
